My modern 2 bed duplex apartment is nestled in the very heart of York city centre, providing the perfect break for couples or friends and family planning to meet up. It's situated on Goodramgate, one of York's oldest streets, running 200 metres from the magnificent York Minster. A Grade II listed building, Hunter House was once home to Hunter & Smallpage department store which was famous for its grand interiors. Benefits include two bathrooms, WiFi and a free allocated parking space. We support responsible travel within the current restrictions and therefore my property is available for booking where the purpose of your stay falls within the current guidelines set out by the local Government. The property is professionally cleaned and the linen/ towels are replaced with freshly laundered supplies between each stay. We offer remote access with easy self check-in and 24/7 guest support should you need any assistance during your stay. Hunter House is an old building with high ceilings and big windows. My apartment is located on the 1st floor, and can be reached by stairs or the communal lift. Spectacular views of York's rooftops and architecture can be seen from the living room. It has been newly redecorated throughout and furnished to a high standard. Once inside, the living area is split into two levels. Lower Level (Entrance): Double bedroom with two bedside tables, reading lamps and a chest of drawers for guest storage. The bathroom includes a heated towel rail, shower over the bath, a hand basin vanity unit and toilet. There is also a large walk in cupboard where you can hang coats and store shoes or luggage. Higher Level: Open plan living/dining/kitchen which is perfect for socialising. In here you have use of a large sofa and two armchairs. The TV includes a Roku stick so you can catch up on TV, Netflix and Amazon Prime. The WiFi speeds are around 15 Mbps. The dining table can be extended, or can fit four people around comfortably as it is. In the kitchen, mod cons include a built in fridge freezer, washer dryer, electric hob and double oven, dishwasher, and matching microwave, kettle and toaster set. I enjoy cooking, so for those keen cooks, there's plenty of cooking equipment and accessories. The master double bedroom is on the top floor too. Here, guests can enjoy use of an en-suite shower room and relax in the snug area. There are two bedside tables with reading lamps and a chest of drawers for guest storage. Making use of the unusual shape of the room, I have added in an extra armchair for relaxing. The en-suite shower room is larger than average; it comprises of a double shower, heated towel rail, hand basin vanity unit and toilet. I have equipped my apartment with comfort in mind. Each room has a thermostat, where you can control the temperature individually. There are room darkening blinds in both bedrooms and the living/kitchen area. Additional amenities include use of a Nespresso coffee machine (please bring your own pods, as I appreciate coffee drinkers have their own preferences!) and two hairdryers; one in each bedroom. Due to the age of the building, it does tend to gets cold in the winter and warm in the summer. You will find two fans and two extra electric heaters in the upstairs cupboard which you can use to warm/cool the rooms a bit faster. Parking is free and in the building's car park which is to the rear. Entry is via a secure electric gate and the space is allocated. Further details can be found in your guest manual which my property management team will email over prior to your arrival. Guests will have access to the entire apartment. Please note, there is a non smoking policy in my apartment and throughout the building. This includes not smoking out of the windows. We share the building with residential occupiers and families, therefore before you book, know that noise levels need to be kept down past 10pm. I'm afraid hen and stag parties will not be accepted. Other things to note PARKING: Please make sure to read directions (on Airbnb and in your guest manual) if you are arriving by car, as the car park is to the rear of the building and the sat nav address will be different to navigate there. NON SMOKING: Please note, there is a non smoking policy in my apartment and throughout the building. This includes not smoking out of the windows. NEIGHBOURS: We share the building with residential occupiers and families, therefore before you book, know that noise levels need to be kept down past 10pm or there is a risk of being asked to leave immediately before the end of your booking. CHECK IN / CHECK OUT: Check-in time is after 3pm and check-out time is before 11am. A £30 charge will be requested if guests check themselves in early without permission or if guests do not check out on time as this will cause disruption to my cleaner’s schedule. Please note that you will be charged £100 for lost keys, so please be careful with them. TRAVEL COT: A travel cot and mattress are available to borrow upon request, subject to availability, and at an additional cost of £20. Please ensure you message before hand so that I can arrange for the installation. Guests will need to bring their own cot bedding, including a bottom sheet. (I am afraid highchair requests cannot be met). When booking with us your stay will be protected by a Deposit Guarantee, Guest Guarantee and public liability provided by our risk management partner, Superhog.
